Work residence permit application

From April 1, 2017, the whole country will implement the work permit system for foreigners to come to China. According to the new policy, the original "Entry Permit for Foreigners" and "Work Permit for Foreign Experts in China" are integrated into "Work Permit for Foreigners in China", which is organized and implemented by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.

The new policy will classify foreigners working in China into three categories. Category A (encouraged category), category B (foreign professionals, control category), category C (general foreign personnel, restricted category)and manage them based on the standards. Applicants are at least Category C so GTG Visa can apply work permit for them. Please read the following classification criteria for categories A, B and C:


A

Foreign high-end talents

Encouraged category:
High-paid foreigners whose salary standard reaches an annual salary of more than 600,000 yuan and an annual personal income tax of more than 120,000 yuan.

B

Foreign professionals

Controlled category:
1.Foreigners have a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of full-time relevant work experience after graduation.
2.Foreign skilled workers (holding international general vocational skills qualification certificates) are foreign talents who have 2 years of full-time relevant work experience and whose average salary income is no less than 4 times of the average social salary income of the previous year in the region.
3. Foreign language teaching staffs. Foreign language teaching staff should be engaged in language teaching in their native country, and have obtained a bachelor's degree or above and have more than 2 years of language teaching work experience. Among them, those who have obtained a bachelor's degree or above in education, language or teacher training, or who have obtained a teacher's qualification certificate in the country where they are located, or who have obtained a national language teaching certificate that meets the requirements.
4. The comprehensive assessment of foreigners exceeds 60 points.

Other foreigners

Restricted category:
Foreigners studying in China and obtaining a bachelor's or higher diploma (graduated from any university in China within 1 year of graduation).
The registered address of the company is in various cities in China.

▷ Foreigners who used to have Chinese nationality, obtained a bachelor's degree or above with Chinese, and passed the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) level 5 or above, with a score of 5;

Foreigner's Work Permit, which is an essential step in the process of foreigners working, living and hiring foreigners legally in China. The English name of the residence permit for foreigners is China Residence Permit. The reason for residence is generally employment or employment. Application for residence permit for short-term work within 90 days

Those who come to China for work permit and residency and stay in China for no more than 90 days are classified as short-term work permit, which is also different from long-term work permit and business visas.

Refers to those who enter China for the following reasons and stay in China for no more than 90 days

Go to the domestic partner to complete a certain technology, scientific research, management, etc.
Trial training at domestic sports institutions (including coaches and athletes)
Shooting films (including commercials, documentaries)
Fashion show (including car models, shooting print advertisements, etc.)

The following circumstances are not classified as short-term work visa applications

Purchase machinery and equipment supporting maintenance, installation, debugging, disassembly, guidance and training

Guiding, supervising and inspecting projects that have won bids in China

Those dispatched to domestic branches, subsidiaries and representative offices to complete short-term work

Participating in sports events (including athletes, coaches, team doctors, assistants and other relevant personnel. However, according to the requirements of international sports organizations, with the approval of the competent authorities of our country, except for the entry of the registration card to participate in the competition, etc.)

Entry for unpaid work or by an overseas agency, remunerated volunteers and volunteers, etc.

The extension of work and residence permit refers to the need to apply for extension of residence only because the validity period has expired under the circumstance that the work situation of the foreigner has not changed.
The list of material requirements corresponding to the change and extension of work and residence permit services is as follows:

Basic Material Requirements 1:
If the work unit is changed, a valid passport, the original foreigner employment permit and residence permit, the resignation certificate of the original unit and the business license of the current unit and other relevant materials must be submitted.

Basic Material Requirements 2:
If the industrial and commercial information of the work unit is changed, the business license and related certificates of the industrial and commercial change must be submitted.

Basic Material Requirements 3:
To change the foreigner's passport information, the replacement valid passport, the original foreigner's employment permit and residence permit must be submitted。
